Clinical Bodywork
A focused therapy that often does not use oil or lotion, clinical bodywork is a combination of techniques targeting chronic or acute pain conditions. Techniques used include deep tissue massage (deep, focused pressure into or across muscle fibers), trigger point therapy (working trigger areas of tension in muscles that refer pain to other areas), and myofascial release (work performed without oil on the skin to warm and elongate fascial connective tissue and soften adhesions and scar tissue). Since the approach of Clinical Bodywork is much more focused than Therapeutic Massage, this is not a full-body technique each session will concentrate on working more completely on
very specific areas of concern.
